プルサーマル計画をご存じでしょうか？

プルサーマル計画とは、原子力発電所から発生する使用済み核燃料のリサイクル計画です。
核燃料にはウラン２３８という物質が９５パーセント、
ウラン２３５という物質が５パーセント含まれています。
このうち燃料として使えるのはウラン２３５で、ウラン２３５に中性子を当てると
核分裂を起こしてエネルギーを発します。このまま使い続けるとウラン２３５は
どんどん無くなり、やがて核燃料の中からほとんど無くなってしまいます。
これが使用済み核燃料です。ところがこの使用済み核燃料の中にまだ核燃料
として使える物質があります。これがプルトニウム２３９という物質です。
これはウラン２３８に中性子を当てるとまれにできる物質です。
プルサーマル計画とはそのプルトニウム２３９を集めて核燃料を作ろうという計画です。

核燃料ってのはつまりまあエロ本ですわな。
皆さんもご経験した通り、エロ本の写真って９５パーセントがハズレじゃないですか。
これがウラン２３８です。これは役にたちません。
で当たりの５パーセントこそウラン２３５。でも繰り返し何度も眺めてると、
やっぱいずれ飽きちゃう。これが使用済み核燃料です。
けど飽きたはずの写真でも、久しぶりに見ると意外にアリじゃないと思うときないですか？
それがプルトニウム２３９なわけです。
プルサーマル計画ってのは、どんどん新しいのを買うのにはお金もかかるし、古本の置き場もないし、
たくさん飽きたエロ本から意外にアリな写真を切り抜いて１冊の新たなエロ本を作る計画です。
